St Anne's Nursery School

School History

The nursery school officially opened its doors to the first class in September 2003. The idea of the building a school came for an Irish Priest, Fr. John O'Reilly, who had ministered in the Gambia . Funding to build the school came from the Transition Years Students of Gorey Community School, Wexford , Ireland . When the school opened the donors supported the school by paying the teachers salary as well as giving a recent donation to build furniture for the school.

Since opening, the school has attracted other benefactors. They help annually by raising funds for the school. Fundraising affords the management of the school the opportunity to provide the educational tools necessary to give the children a rounded education.

In 2009 the school became self reliant. The Parish Council pay the teachers and ancillary staff salaries. Funds are raised from tuition fees paid by the students. Needy students are provided from from a scholarship bursary run by the Parish Council
